Immersion Homework:
Listen To Our French On Bonjour Louisiane
Total Immersion! Most of this radio show is in our French dialect.
Complete this assignment after doing the other immersion assignments as it is the most challenging and you will need your experience from hearing French with the captions to complete it. Using either the iPhone app, or the android app, you can access the weekly archives of Bonjour Louisiane.
You can navigate to the latest episodes by hitting the on demand button and looking for “Bonjour Louisiane.”
On the apps, you are able to use the skip button to move forward and backward in the episode. If you only have a computer I’ve included the link to their web archive but you will have to listen in real time.
Skip around on the app until you hear the DJ, Colby, talking. He talks after the first song, usually again at the 15 minute mark, 30 minute mark, 1 hour mark, and so on until the end of the show. He usually does a word of the day around the 1 hour mark.
Find at least 1 word you recognize.
Find at least 1 word he repeats.
Look that word up in the dictionary of Louisiana French.
If you cannot find that word, post it as a comment in our Facebook group and we will try to help you.
