You asked for it—and it’s finally here. We’re offering live virtual Louisiana French classes, one of the most requested additions to our program. Join a small group online to practice speaking, build real conversational skills, and experience the language together.

Google Meet Classes
Across eight weeks, we’ll work through the language tools that make conversation possible in Louisiana French. By learning how to communicate about the past, present, and future, students will gradually build the confidence and structure needed to participate in real dialogue.

How the Adult Classes Work
Classes are held live using Google Meet, a simple video meeting platform that allows everyone in the class to see, hear, and speak with one another in real time. Before each session, you’ll receive a link to join the meeting. At the scheduled class time, simply click the link and you’ll be taken directly into the virtual classroom.
Because this is a conversation-based class, a working camera and microphone are required. Being able to see and hear one another helps create a more natural learning environment and allows everyone to participate fully in the conversation.
No special software is required—Google Meet runs directly in most web browsers and can also be accessed on a phone or tablet if needed.

Three courses will run for 8 weeks total with breaks for the holidays:
You may choose from three live class times each week (All times in Central Standard Time):
Sunday at 3:00PM (basic)
Sunday at 4:00 PM (intermediate/alumni) *You must have completed at least 50% of one of our basic or independent classes to join intermediate/alumni. If you feel we should make an exception, please email us at info@cajun-french.com.

If you are late or unable to attend a session, a replay of most classes will be available, allowing you to review the lesson and stay on track with the course.

Holiday Themed Cajun French For Kids
Halloween • Toussaint • Thanksgiving • Christmas • New Year’s
Class times are Monday at 11AM CST, Tuesday at 5PM CST. Same class days as adult classes above.
No previous French experience necessary!
The holiday season is full of stories, traditions, special foods, family gatherings—and plenty of words that we don’t use every day.
In this special Cajun French class for kids, we’ll explore the language and stories connected to the holidays from Halloween through New Year’s. Students will learn Cajun French vocabulary and expressions while discovering the traditional characters, customs, and ways people have talked about these holidays in Louisiana.
Monsters & Legends
Starting the week after halloween gives us a chance to explore some of the spooky side of Louisiana French.
We’ll learn words and expressions for monsters, ghosts, witches, scary creatures, and things that go bump in the night, while hearing some of the stories and folklore connected to the season.
Students will practice describing what they see, what scares them, and what they might encounter on a spooky night—all in Cajun French.
Toussaint — All Saints’ Day
Toussaint, or All Saints’ Day, has a long history in French-speaking Catholic communities.
We’ll look at some of the Cajun French vocabulary associated with Toussaint, saints, family, remembrance, cemeteries, and the traditions surrounding November 1st.
It’s also an opportunity to explore how older Louisiana traditions connected families, religion, community, and remembrance.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving isn't traditionally a Cajun holiday, but it provides a great opportunity to learn some very important language: gratitude and politeness.
Students will practice ways to say thank you, you're welcome, please, excuse me, and other everyday expressions of courtesy in Cajun French.
We'll also use Thanksgiving as a chance to talk about family, food, gathering together, sharing, and giving thanks.
Christmas
Christmas brings some of the richest holiday vocabulary and storytelling traditions.
We'll learn Cajun French words and expressions connected to Christmas, presents, decorations, family gatherings, food, music, Papa Noel, and Christmas traditions.
We'll also explore some of the stories and characters associated with Christmas in Louisiana French culture, while practicing language that kids can actually use in conversation.
New Year's
We'll finish the holiday season with new years and the language of the New Year.
Students will learn how to talk about the new year, celebrations, wishes, resolutions, parties, and looking forward to what's coming next.
We'll practice giving New Year's wishes and talking about what we hope the coming year will bring.
More Than Holiday Vocabulary
This isn't simply a class where kids memorize lists of holiday words.
Throughout the course, we'll use stories, conversation, activities, and cultural traditions to help students hear and use Cajun French in context.
The goal is to give kids a chance to experience Cajun French as a living language connected to Louisiana families, stories, traditions, and everyday life.
No previous French experience is necessary. Whether your child is hearing Cajun French for the first time or already knows some Louisiana French, they'll have plenty of opportunities to participate, learn, and have fun.
We'll laugh, learn some unusual words, tell some stories, and probably get a little spooky along the way!
